I haven't been back to England since the last time I lived there in 1994. But man, if I ever have the chance to be in London in the summer, I think getting into Wimbledon at such a relatively reasonable price might be worth the wait in that queue ... and this is from someone who hates lines. 😎

Sounds like you're overdue for a London summer. And if you hate lines, the good news is this one you can drink in.

Very useful intel, thank you! I am not a natural queue-er but maybe I could make an exception for Wimbledon...

Of course, It's worth it at least once the queue itself is half the experience. If you go, let me know how it goes.

This is so refreshing given the ticket prices at the current World Cup.

This was compelling reading, and I'm not entirely sure why! I thoroughly enjoyed this. I've only been to one tournament, the US Open, a grounds pass on day 1. My sister has been to Wimbledon at least half a dozen times, maybe more, but I think she's only queued once - she's not a proper Londoner, obviously!

Well if she has the ability to get in without having to queue then she’s obviously doing that part right! TBH, grounds passes are great experiences and glad you made it to the Open.

Awesome! I played competitive tennis until university too so Wimbledon is on the bucket list! Haven't even made it to England yet though, which is a prerequisite.

Just a small prereq but it is definitely worth planning your trip around this time of year for the tourney. You’ll get there I’m sure!

Wow so many memories come to my mind after reading your post Scott. I was in that 'queue' multiple times 40 to 45 years ago, when it was just a long snake of people on the street outside who had jumped on the first train, at stupid early o'clock. We never failed to have a wonderful day. I loved waiting for those returned tickets to get on to centre court - back when you prayed for good weather as it was way before the days of the covered roof! Fun times. 🌞😎

Ah that’s so wonderful to hear, what great memories!
