Wow I’m heading back to Japan in a couple days and this list was so helpful. Have you read all these books? Im halfway through Convenience Store Woman and have a copy of No Longer Human. The Road to Sata is one I’ve never heard of before but am super intrigued by!
Yes, I have read all of these, and Road to Sata is very good. It's one of those that my local library didn't have via Libby, though, so it was a purchased one. I'd loan it off if I could.
Thank you for your list! I have read Convenience Store Woman (I read it so quickly!) and Snow Country (savoured this one) this year actually - with Butter and Lost Japan on my to-read pile. I will have to look at In Praise of Shadows!
I think Memoirs of a Geisha, the film, added fuel to my love of Japan, even with its contentious writing.
Of course! I am glad you have read so many thus far and hope you enjoy some of these others, too. Praise of Shadows is usually available from the library (both physical and ebook) too, given its age.

A few to add to the ever-growing book pile here
Piles are a good thing!
Depends on how big :)
